My name is Genaro Mirando, I'm a Supervisory Border Patrol Agent in charge of the ATV units, the All-Terrain Vehicles, at the Imperial Beach Station, San Diego, California. You definitely have to be somebody who likes to be outside to succeed here. You've gotta enjoy this job to do it. It's very important that you believe in what you're doing; without belief, you can not perform the job properly. Love for your country is what gets you om this job. If you love your country and the people who live in it, you will defend it. The biggest misperception in the civilian world about us is that we're very militarized, no compassion, no care, just go out there and just keep everybody out. I think it's important for people to understand what we're doing, and that way they can assist us in what we're doing. The typical day for us is get in, get ready, be prepared for everything. We're out riding around, up and down these canyons, chasing people - be prepared for the worse. Protected by me, Genaro Miranda.
