Agent Ian Meyers Transcript I'm Agent Meyers with the central press response team out of Central California. My family's background is based really upon military service. After I graduated high school, I entered on active duty in the United States Army. After five years of service there, I still wanted to continue to serve my country, and being from Arizona area, I was kind of familiar with the Border Patrol. I looked them up on the internet, and felt that that was something I wanted to do and still contribute to my country, so I applied through Arizona and here I am today. There's a lot of opportunity within the Border Patrol that people can with backgrounds, whether they be military or a civilian life, that they can still extend here and do pretty much the same job in the Border Patrol. It's a wide open field and it's just like anything else: the Border Patrol is what you make of it. I've been a part of a couple high-risk warrants served within our sector. When you do a warrant or something like that, especially when you get intel that the person you're after is an avid gun collector or any type like that, or a noncompliant, or has a bad history, arrest record, it makes you wonder. It just raises your security a little bit more, your sense of awareness. When the call comes, you want to go ahead and utilize the skills you learned during the course of your training. Protected by me, Border Patrol Agent Ian Meyers.
